The primary function of the Balochistan Archives is the preservation of the archives of Government Departments and related administrative units, and this involves the selection of those records having permanent value. Balochistan Archives also performs the Acquisition/collections of important archival, cultural and education resources, which are presently lying in different departments, divisional & district headquarters of Balochistan. Microfilming of sensitive records, Acquisition and preservation of private collections of historical importance such as important tribal families’ papers also includes in Balochistan Archives functions.
